Once attached, the rod holder allows you to mount a 15mm rod (not included) onto your cage for mounting optional accessories such as a lens motor or lens light.

The holder attaches to your cage with a screw, and it has a locating pin that helps prevent the holder from rotating without overtightening it on your cage.
