Description

Allowing you to output to a streaming server via an IP address, the AVMATRIX H.264/H.265 SDI Streaming Encoder lets you efficiently live stream without connecting to a computer. Featuring an SDI input and loop output as well as an independent 3.5mm audio input, it allows you to encode up to 1080p60 video with embedded audio into an IP stream, or choose to encode audio only, and send out either signal over an Ethernet interface while monitoring the input video source locally.

You can send to popular streaming destinations such as Facebook, YouTube, and Wowza for applications including live weddings, sporting events, live medical broadcasts, and educational activities. The encoder allows dual streaming via a main stream and a sub stream. Additionally, image and text overlay and mirror image/flip can be applied over your source. All the different options are selectable via a Web user interface.

The encoder has a default IP address and can automatically obtain a new IP address when it is using DHCP on the network. You can disable DHCP and configure the encoder and computer’s network in the same network segment.

Q1: What is the main advantage of using H.265 over H.264 for streaming?
H.265 (HEVC) offers significantly better compression efficiency than H.264, meaning you can achieve the same video quality at roughly half the bitrate, which is ideal for limited bandwidth environments.

Q2: Can I stream to multiple platforms at the same time?
Yes. The encoder supports multiple streaming profiles, allowing you to send streams to different destinations simultaneously, such as YouTube, Facebook Live, and a private RTMP server.

Q3: Does the device require a computer to operate?
No. Once configured via the web interface, the encoder can operate independently, directly streaming from your SDI source to the internet without needing a computer in the workflow.

Q4: What latency can I expect?
When using SRT or low-latency configurations, the encoder can achieve very low latency suitable for live interaction, often within a few hundred milliseconds.

Q5: Is it portable for on-location streaming?
Yes. Its compact, lightweight design makes it perfect for mobile streaming setups, OB vans, and field production, while still being robust enough for permanent installation.
