New Delhi: 17th Dec, 2019 â€“ Upgrading the Nikon Z 7 and Z 6 further, Firmware Version 2.20 has been announced today by Nikon India Pvt. Ltd, a 100% subsidiary of Nikon Corporation, Tokyo. This firmware update offers several improvements that make these cameras even more powerful. In addition, Nikon initiates the service to enable RAW video output function.

Updating the Z 7 and Z 6 firmware to Ver. 2.20 enables the use1 of CFexpress2 cards. CFexpress cards support even faster data transfer than XQD cards for a smoother and more efficient photographic workflow.

Users of the Z 7 or Z 6 who have downloaded and installed Firmware Ver. 2.20 or later can also bring in their camera to a Nikon-authorized service centre to have the RAW video output capability activated. Activating this capability enables recording of RAW video, which has greater tolerance to colour grading than other video formats, to an external recorder via a HDMI connector.

• Support for 4K UHD or Full-HD RAW video output
12-bit 4K UHD or Full-HD RAW video can be recorded3 to an external recorder4 connected to a Z 7 or Z 6 camera via a HDMI connector.
